Thought of the Day- Courageous decisions tend to have a domino effect.
Scripture- “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5
Insight: The scripture above is a great road map for how we should process our thoughts. I just wish I didn’t struggle so much in carrying it out. I often want to take parts of the Bible and parts of my own worldview and combine those two to create my thought patterns. My weakness is taking every thought I have captive to obedience in Christ.
I do realize when I am able to look at all things through the lens of Christ, the world because much clearer and coherent. I guess in my human weakness, I am just unable to do it all the time and tend to want to interject my own “knowledge” into the situation, which is never a good idea in the long run. Obedience is a willingness to do whatever, whenever, wherever God calls us. I have found that when I courageously answer and respond to the insights God puts on my heart through prayer, He always provides more back in the form of peace and strength. Not to mention leaps of growth in my faith. Sometimes I feel like to want to wait until the perfect time to act, but realizing that life is seldom perfect, it is much better to just jump in than to live with the regrets of not acting at all. Christ is the filter with which we should see the world. There is pain and brokenness all around us, therefore there are numerous opportunities to use the gifts He has given us to bring the love and hope that the world needs. God gets the glory, but we get the satisfaction of knowing we acted, by trusting in his plan and not our own, and by holding captive the thoughts that would otherwise cause us to live paralyzed in fear, rather than obedient to Christ.
Prayer: Father God, may the Holy Spirit empower us to live courageous lives, embracing uncertainty and trusting in You to navigate our path forward always. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
